Synopsis:
Set in the world of rouge making during the Republican era, the story follows the romantic entanglements between Lang Manor’s second young master and the mysterious Gu Hai Tang.
Gu Hai Tang (Li Yi Tong) is a beautiful young woman of marriageable age. In search of her father’s whereabouts, she arrives in Kunyang and meets Lang Yue Xuan (Deng Lun), the second son of the Lang family. A discussion between them allows them to comfortably get acquainted with each other. Gu Hai Tang finds a job at the Lang family’s rouge factory and catches the eye of Yue Ming (Hanson Ying), the eldest son of the family. To make her a bride for her, the Lang family tricks Hai Tang into getting married in a fake wedding and when she finds out that she has married Yue Ming, she feels hatred towards Yue Xuan for cheating on her.
By promising to heal Yue Ming’s face in exchange for her divorce papers, Hai Tang wins her freedom. Yue Xuan is wracked with guilt over her actions and realizes that he loves Hai Tang. He begins to pursue her once more, but her love is passionate and thorough. After Yue Ming recovers, his obsession turns to hate. He becomes the couple’s rival in business and tries to separate them. At the same time, the truth behind Hai Tang’s father’s disappearance begins to resurface.
